Freshwater is a large village at the western end of the Island. It has been home to a some important residents: Robert Hooke – natural philosopher and physicist; Alfred Lord Tennyson – Poet Laureat whose work had a major influence on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Julia Margaret Cameron – celebrated Victorian photographer.
Well what can we say? What an end to a difficult week! The whole of Year 6 showed great maturity and resilience. They also wished Mrs Wrixon a very happy Birthday.
Hopefully, this is not the end of Freshwater Class for our current co-hort but just a small bump in the motorway of life…
The culmination of Science Week was an amazing practical demonstration from our specialist Science teacher, Mrs Loizos, on the awesome spectacle of dry ice…
Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out many times a day to attend to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents. Highly skilled crews of doctors, paramedics and pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes, ready to deliver the same level of care that you would expect from a hospital emergency department.
It currently costs £15,000 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
Knowing that every member of the Air Ambulance crew and all their support staff are superheroes, we decided to show our appreciation of this amazing charity by holding a Superheroes Mufti Day!
On Tuesday 11th February we will be competing, along with many other Island primary schools, in “Isle Dance” at Medina Theatre.
Today, we were extremely lucky to watch the rehearsal of our entry – “Alice in Wonderland”…
WOW, what a performance!
Well done to our Year 6s and Year 5s, particularly to those children taking part from Freshwater Class: Alex, Ellie, Erin B, Erin G, Evie, Isaac, Lizzie and Polly.
William and Kody took part in an inclusive PE event held at Medina Leisure Centre on Wednesday afternoon, along with some of their friends from Ventnor Class.
There was a round-robin of activities – including wheelchair basketball, table cricket, shuffle rugby and kurling.
Both boys really enjoyed the event and participated to the full!
